Varun Gandhi: Pawn of Political conspiracy?

Varun Gandhi, grandson of Nehru and BJP candidate from Pilibhit (UP)has gone on record to say that he is being framed and that his anti-secular speech was doctored by certain parties who do not want to see him progress in the BJP. The EC has slapped notices on him and BJP for inflammatory speech and violating the code of conduct, but Varun Gandhi remains unapologetic. Varun says that he had used 'vote katwao' to refer to anti-social elements, but the tape was doctored to mean 'katwao'. Do you thing this is a well-planned strategy by elements to throw him, an inexperienced rookie out of politics? Or was he really that mean?
